WAVES Summit 2025 will boost entertainment economy globally: CM Fadnavis

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday that India is all set to lead the entertainment and creative economy sector globally as the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 will be held in Mumbai from May 1 to 4, that will set waves in the global media and entertainment industry and attract the best minds from the creative entertainment sector.

While addressing the media in Mumbai, Fadnavis said, “The Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will host the WAVES summit 2025 at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. The summit will provide a great opportunity to show to the world India’s huge potential in the field of entertainment, talent, and creativity.”

“Prime minister Narendra Modi has always strived to showcase India’s potential and aspirations to the world. The conclave brings the opportunity to fulfill the PM’s dream into reality. What makes it very special if Maharashtra has been chosen to host the summit,” said the CM.

“The economic growth in the entertainment sector is fast world over including India. More than 100 countries and 5,000 delegates from world over will participate in the summit,” said Fadnavis.

“Every year, the summit takes place in Mumbai. This enhances the significance of Mumbai globally,” Fadnavis explained.

At Malad, the Information and Technology Ministry holds 240 acres of land. “An entertainment hub will be constructed on this land. These initiatives will expand entertainment sectors from world over to Mumbai,” said Fadnavis.
