Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta holds high-level meeting on CAG reports

Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta convened a high-level meeting on the reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) at the Old Secretariat Friday, where he issued directions for the submission of Action Taken Reports (ATRs) on CAG findings by the end of the month.

Deputy Delhi Assembly Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht; Chairperson of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) Ajay Mahawar; Chairperson of the Committee on Government Undertakings Gajender Drall; representatives from the Delhi government finance department; and Accountant General (Audit), Delhi, Roli Shukla Malge were part of the meeting.

According to the Assembly Secretariat, Speaker Gupta directed that a report on the supply and regulation of liquor in Delhi be submitted by April 20 and further instructed the relevant departments to submit ATRs on other CAG reports by April 30.

“During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made by the Accountant General (Audit), Delhi, highlighting key findings and observations from the latest audit reports. This was followed by a comprehensive review of the status of implementation of the Audit Para Monitoring System (APMS) and a discussion on the Action Taken Notes (ATNs) related to reports presented during the second session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly,” the statement said.

“The Hon’ble Speaker, while addressing officers during the meeting, emphasised the importance of taking timely action on audit observations and establishing robust mechanisms to ensure accountability and transparency in governance. The committees and government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional coordination for the effective follow-up of audit recommendations,” it added.
