After Manish Sisodia skips ACB summons, officials ask him to appear on June 20 in classroom construction ‘scam’

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi Government Tuesday again summoned former AAP minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged corruption to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of classrooms in government schools when the party was in power. Sisodia was summoned on June 3, and had to appear before ACB officials on June 9, but he could not do so, citing prior engagements. ACB has now asked him to appear on June 20. AAP leader Manish Sisodia, who was summoned for questioning by the Delhi Government’s Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) Monday morning in connection with the alleged corruption to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of classrooms in government schools when the party was in power, said he would not be able to do so. The Enforcement Directorate said in the Delhi High Court on Monday that it was not at the current stage insisting on the cancellation of bail the trial court in the excise policy case had granted to former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, even though the order was “perverse, erroneous and thus needs to be set aside”. Additional Solicitor-General S V Raju informed Justice Ravinder Dudeja of the ED’s stance while seeking an adjournment for the ninth time in the case.
