The silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with great pride and fervour at the Air Force Station in Bhisiana, Punjab, on Saturday to honour the bravery, valour, and sacrifices of Indian soldiers who made during the 1999 war. The No.17 Squadron of the Indian Air Force, which operated MiG-21 Type-96 aircraft from Bhisiana AFS during the war, played a key role in the operations. New Delhi: An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent has reached the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin to participate in the largest edition so far of the biennial Exercise Pitch Black. This edition, from 12 July to 2 August, will see participation by 20 countries, with over 140 aircraft and 4,400 military personnel of various air forces. New Delhi: French defence major Dassault Aviation has filed an application with the Indian government to set up a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility near Jewar international airport in Uttar Pradesh to cater to not just India’s fleet of Mirage 2000s and Rafale fighter jets, but also that of Indonesia.Government sources told ThePrint that the proposed MRO facility is a standalone venture of Dassault Aviation and will be fully owned by the French aviation firm.
