NEW DELHI: Replying to the motion of thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asserted that the outcome of the 2024 general election demonstrated the public’s rejection of propaganda and their support for performance-based governance. He emphasized that the politics of deception had been defeated.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the Constitution for the BJP, saying that it serves as a guiding light for governments, with its spirit and words holding great importance beyond being a mere compilation of articles. He announced that Constitution Day would be celebrated to spread the essence of the Constitution throughout the nation.
Modi pointed out the historic nature of the BJP-led NDA‘s third term, marking the first instance in six decades where a government has been re-elected after serving for 10 years. He declared that this term would be dedicated to transforming India into a developed and self-reliant nation, with the goal of elevating the country from the fifth to the third largest economy in the world.
The Prime Minister criticized the Congress party for suggesting that India’s growth was inevitable regardless of who held power. “Those who ran the government on the remote, auto-pilot mode can only make such statements,” he remarked.
