Telugu star Nani recently shared his thoughts on Rishab Shetty‘s comment about Bollywood’s portrayal of India. Speaking with India Today, Nani addressed the controversy, suggesting that Rishab likely meant well. He explained that Bollywood might focus more on filmmaking techniques rather than the essence of emotional storytelling, but stressed that there are still many wonderful films in the industry.
Nani said, “I don’t think Bollywood shows India in a negative light. I think what Rishab means is much more rooted stories. Somewhere, I think there’s a lot of importance given to the technique and style of filmmaking rather than the core of the emotional story; this happens only in a few films. But there are some great magical films in Hindi. So, I don’t think he meant it that way, and without seeing his entire conversation, I don’t want to comment more.”
Recently, Rishab Shetty had expressed his views in an interview with MetroSaga, stating that Bollywood often portrays India in a negative light. He highlighted his pride in his nation and its culture and emphasized his commitment to presenting them positively. Rishab is currently working on the prequel Kantara: Chapter 1.

He also acknowledged that after watching the full interview with Arshad, he understood the context better. He also urged people to be cautious with their words and not to take online fan wars too seriously, as social media often amplifies such controversies.
