Amid speculations of unease within the ruling Mahayuti, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde on Sunday morning held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which he termed as a “routine visit to discuss development of the state”.

Speaking to reporters after Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Sanjay and Sanjana Ghadi joined the Sena led by him, Shinde said, “Amit Shah is a leader of the NDA and Mahayuti. My meeting with him was about informing him of various developmental projects going on in the state and in Mumbai. You (media) give rise to various theories and speculations which have no value.”

According to sources, the Shinde Sena is said to be unhappy over a number of things, including not getting guardian ministership of Raigad district. The issue remains unresolved as both Sena and NCP have staked claim to the post. Among other things also include delay in movement of files related to the departments led by the Sena ministers.

Shah arrived in Maharashtra on Saturday and visited Raigad Fort. Later he held lunch at NCP state chief Sunil Tatkare’s house. Shah was stationed in Mumbai on Saturday and left on Sunday, before which Shinde held a meeting with him.

Shinde, however, denied any dispute within the Mahayuti saying, these are creations by the media alone.

Sources in BJP indicated, “Eknath Shinde held a courtesy meeting. Nothing wrong. He may have raised some issues related to his organisation and future plans.”
