Fadnavis emphasised that the development of MMR as a major growth hub will require substantial contributions from sectors such as tourism, industry, urban development, housing, and environmental management. “Several projects have been initiated, and it is crucial that these meet global standards. Close monitoring and tracking of their progress through a dedicated war room and dashboard is necessary,” he said. The CM also proposed the formation of a team to resolve any challenges hindering project execution.

The report outlining the MMR Growth Hub’s development was finalised in September 2024. Since then, eight meetings have been held to discuss the initiative, resulting in 37 projects, eight policies, and 19 government decisions. Seven agencies are responsible for implementing these projects.

Notable developments under the Growth Hub include the Goregaon Film City project, which plans to attract several global studios.
