Delhi Election 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its second list of 20 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February. Among the prominent names is Avadh Ojha, a UPSC coaching expert and recent entrant into the party, who has been fielded from the Patparganj constituency. The seat was previously represented by senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who will now contest from the Jangpura constituency.

Addressing his vision for Patparganj, Ojha told news agency PTI, “I sincerely thank the people for their support. I will work to ensure continued progress, and just as Madhopura village is known as IAS factory, I aim to make Patparganj an IAS factory.” Referring to his predecessor, he added, “I will ensure that Manish ji is proud of my work.”

According to PTI, Sisodia, who represented Patparganj since 2013, revealed in a letter to AAP volunteers that stepping down from his long-held constituency was a challenging decision. “Patparganj is not just a seat; it symbolises a revolution of education-based politics. Its schools are not merely educational centres but laboratories for building the future. Ojha ji’s vision and dedication to education convinced me that this is an opportunity to take a significant leap in the field of education for the country,” he wrote, adding that Patparganj would always remain close to his heart.

Earlier, Ojha expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating on X (formerly Twitter), “Education is a means of service. I express my gratitude to AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal ji for trusting an ordinary teacher like me. The education legacy of Patparganj by Sisodia ji will continue. I am ready to dedicate everything to advance his unmatched contribution to education. Heartfelt thanks to Sanjay Singh for his recognition of my struggles, and to all AAP workers for their support.”

The second list, released on Monday, features significant changes as 18 sitting MLAs were denied tickets, with the party opting for new faces in several constituencies. ALSO READ | Delhi Assembly: Manish Sisodia Moved To Jangpura Seat, Avadh Ojha To Make Poll Debut.
