In Mumbai Hit And Run Case, Rs 10 Lakh Aid Announced For Victim’s Family

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the family of victim Kaveri Nakhawa who died in the Worli hit-and-run case. Congress legislator Aslam Shaikh had demanded that the state government should provide financial aid to the victim's family citing that the latter has not received any help from the government. NEET-UG Counselling From July 3rd Week, Don’t Want Retest: Centre To Court

A day before the Supreme Court hears a clutch of petitions on the alleged irregularities in NEET-UG, the Centre on Wednesday submitted an affidavit in the court stating that a comprehensive analysis of the results has revealed that there was no large-scale malpractice or evidence of a local set of candidates benefiting.  The Union government also reiterated its stance that it does not intend to hold a retest of the medical entrance exam. Doing so on the basis of "unsubstantiated suspicions", it said, would burden nearly 24 lakh students, who had appeared for the exam on May 5. 5-Year-Old Girl Crushed To Death By Bus In Nashik, Driver Flees From Spot

A five-year-old girl was crushed to death by a bus belonging to the local civic transport undertaking in Maharashtra's Nashik city on Wednesday afternoon, police said. The minor's grandfather, who was accompanying her, received injuries in the accident, they said. According to the police, the girl was identified as Sanvi Sagar Gavai, a Class I student whose family resides in the Nashik Road area. The girl's grandmother, Jijabai Gavai, runs a tea stall in the area and she used to come there while going to school and before coming home. A software engineer was taken for a ride by a 33-year-old con artist who utilised his mimicry skills to assume different fake identities, including a potential bride, an Income Tax judge and an RBI official, to cheat him of Rs 1.39 crore, police said. Unidentified cyber fraudsters duped a woman of around Rs 35 lakh In Gurugram on the pretext of investing in the stock market, said police.
