Picnic Turns Tragic In Pune, 3 Of Family Drown In Waterfall, 2 Missing

A family outing turned tragic when a woman and two girls drowned at a waterfall close to Bhushi Dam in Pune's Lonavala area on Sunday. Two children in the 4-9 age group remain missing. A video shows a group of people, including those who lost their lives, being swept away by gushing water caused by intense rainfall in the region. According to the police, 16-17 members of a family from Sayyad Nagar in Pune's Hadapsar area had hired a private bus to visit the scenic spot near Lonavala for a picnic on the rain-soaked day. Inspector Suhas Jagtap of Lonavala police station said about 10 people were swept away around 12.30 pm due to sudden flooding. CBI Arrests Gujarat School Owner Over NEET-UG Exam Malpractice

The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the alleged malpractices in conducting the NEET-UG exam at a private school in Godhra of Gujarat in May, on Sunday arrested its owner. With the arrest of Dixit Patel, owner of Jay Jalaram School situated near Godhra in Panchmahal district, the number of persons arrested so far- five of them were held by Gujarat Police- has gone up to six. Jay Jalaram School was one of the designated centres where the NEET-UG exam was held on May 5. UP Man Rapes 12-Year-Old Daughter For 3 Months, Arrested

A man has been arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter for over three months, officials said. According to police, the girl informed her mother about her father's offence a few days ago. Following this, she approached the police and informed them that girl's father had been raping her for the past three months. He also threatened her to maintain her silence, Station House Officer (SHO) Dharamveer Singh said. Based on the mother's complaint, a case was registered under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, Singh said. Houses of five people, including three rape and murder accused, were demolished in Assam's Goalpara district on Sunday for alleged encroachment on government land, officials said. Three people were killed on Sunday when their light aircraft crashed onto a motorway east of Paris, the police and gendarmerie said.
