The BCCI unveiled the fixtures for 2024-25, which have been planned taking into account multiple factors to fortify the core of domestic cricket while prioritising player well-being. The season will commence with the Duleep Trophy. Four teams selected by the senior men's selection committee will compete in the Duleep Trophy, starting in Anantapur from September 5. Over 9 Kg Gold Worth Rs 6.29 Crore Seized At Bengaluru Airport

The Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized more than nine kg of gold worth Rs 6.29 crore, an official said on Thursday. According to the DRI official, these seizures were made on Tuesday morning. In the first case, the DRI authorities got specific input that a syndicate would conceal gold inside an aircraft. "The officers of DRI Bengaluru rummaged the Thai Airways flight, from Bangkok, which landed at Bangalore International Airport. The rummaging resulted in recovery of 6.834 kg of gold in bar form and crude form concealed inside abandoned hand bags in the aircraft," the official said in a statement. Delhiites breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday as the scorching heat took a slight break with the maximum temperature dropping from 44 degrees Celsius a day ago to 41.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, according to the weather department. The minimum temperature settled at 24.6 degrees Celsius, three notches below the normal while the relative humidity oscillated between 39 per cent and 57 per cent, according to the IMD bulletin. The Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court has absolved a 40-year-old man who was accused by his wife of having unnatural sex with her, which, she claimed, had led to her contracting an infection. Citing the 31-year-old woman was residing with her husband during the subsistence of the marriage, a single bench of Justice Prem Narayan Singh observed that "any sexual intercourse or act by the husband with his wife not below the age of fifteen years is not rape," adding that "therefore, consent is immaterial". "In these circumstances, the allegations made in the FIR does not constitute offence under Section 377 of IPC against the petitioner no.1. Mumbai Civic Body Introduces Its First Climate Budget Report

On World Environment Day, the Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) has introduced a climate budgeting process to work on achieving the goals set by the Paris Agreement. In 2022, the corporation published the Mumbai Climate Action Plan (MCAP), which serves as a roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the city. The city's first-ever Climate Budget Report was presented by the Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr Ashwini Joshi and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Minesh Pimple. The climate budget is not an independent report by itself, but it takes 32.18 per cent of the capital budget, which amounts to Rs 10,224 crore, to work on the environment-centric work by the corporation.
