15-Year-Old Boy Jailed For 4 Years Over German Christmas Market Attack Plot

A German court on Friday sentenced a 15-year-old boy to four years in jail for planning an Islamist attack on a Christmas market in the western city of Leverkusen. The teenager wanted to rent a truck and "kill as many people as possible" by ramming it into the traditional market, the court in Cologne said in a statement. Searches Carried Out In Premises In Gujarat, Maharashtra In Pakistan Spying Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) Friday conducted searches in Gujarat and Maharashtra on the premises of those suspected to have received money from Pakistan to spy on Indian defence establishments. The searches were conducted in a case registered by the NIA in June last year. The agency filed a charge sheet in July 2023 against two accused including an absconding Pakistani national. Boy, 8, Beaten To Death During Fight Over Collecting Berries In Jharkhand: Cops

An eight-year-old boy was beaten to death during a fight over collecting berries in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Friday, police said. A group of children were collecting berries under a tree when a fight broke out between two of them. The accused, a 23-year-old man, intervened and thrashed one of them to death, Inspector Ramashish Paswan of Pandu police station said. A search was underway for the accused who went missing following the incident, he said, adding that a case was also lodged.
