A two-year-old child died after allegedly being hit by a speeding car while he was playing outside his house in the DLF Phase 3 area here on Thursday, police said. Local people caught hold of the driver while he was trying to escape and handed him over to the police, following which the accused was arrested, they added. In his complaint, the child's father Krishna Malakar, a resident of Samastipur in Bihar, said he lives on rent with his family in DLF Phase 3 area. Mr Malakar said the incident took place when his four-year-old daughter Aakriti and two-year-old son Jigar were playing near the stairs in front of the house. 2 Mumbai Cops Save Woman, 59, From Drowning In Arabian Sea During High Tide

Two police personnel rescued a 59-year-old woman from drowning in the Arabian Sea in South Mumbai during high tide on Thursday, an official said. The incident occurred at around 2.45 pm near Sundar Mahal junction on Marine Drive seafront, where an onlooker informed police that a woman, who was sitting on the promenade, slipped into the sea and was drowning, the official said. Two police personnel, Kiran Thackeray and Amol Dahiphale, posted at the Marine Drive Police Station, rushed to the spot and jumped into the sea and pulled out the woman, who was struggling in water, he said. CCTV footage from the Wazirganj area in Lucknow shows the cyclist riding on the left side of the road, when he is forced to come to the centre because a car double parks in front of him. While changing lanes, he can also be seen pulling out his phone from his pocket and checking something. Everyday Chemicals Seep Into Bloodstream Through Skin: Study

Scientists at the University of Birmingham have discovered that "forever chemicals" known as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) can be absorbed through human skin. These chemicals, known for their non-stick and water-proof properties, have been linked to various health problems when ingested or inhaled. The study, published in Environment International, used 3D human skin models to analyse how PFAS interacts with our bodies. Researchers found that out of 17 commonly used PFAS chemicals, 15 were absorbed within 36 hours. This raises concerns about the safety of everyday products like sunscreen, moisturisers, and cleansers, which often contain PFAS.
