Manchester United staged an incredible comeback late in the game to defeat Manchester City 2-1 in a Premier League clash on Sunday. It was Amad Diallo who scored the decisive winner in the 90th minute.

Manchester City held a 1-0 lead over Manchester United until the 88th minute at the Etihad Stadium. However, a late penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes brought United back into the game. In a dramatic turn of events, Amad Diallo scored the winning goal in the 90th minute, securing a thrilling victory for United and delivering a significant blow to City’s title hopes.

The last-gasp comeback victory delivered a significant blow to Manchester City’s title aspirations. Pep Guardiola’s team has now endured its eighth defeat in 11 matches in all competitions.

The star of the game for United was Amad Diallo. He has also been the stand-out star of new United head coach Ruben Amorim’s newly-started tenure. First, Diallo won a penalty by inducing a rash tackle from left-back Matheus Nunes. Bruno Fernandes scored United’s equaliser from the penalty spot. Then, Diallo scored in the 90th minute to complete United’s comeback win.

City fans were left dejected as the final whistle blew, reflecting the team’s disappointing run of form. With only one win in their last 11 games, City’s dominance has waned significantly.

Manchester City are now in fifth place in the Premier League standings with 27 points after 16 games. They have a measly goal difference of five. They’ve now slipped nine points behind league leaders Liverpool who have 36 points having played one game less.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are in 13th spot in the table, with 22 points from 16 games.

As the Associated Press pointed out this is the first derby victory for United coach Amorim, who led Sporting Lisbon to a 4-1 win against City in one of his last games in charge of the Portuguese club in November.
