Riddhima Kapoor has just stepped into the spotlight with her debut in a Netflix reality series. Growing up in a family of actors, she never revealed her dream of joining the film industry to her father, Rishi Kapoor.
In Rishi Kapoor’s autobiography Khullam Khulla: Rishi Kapoor Uncensored, Neetu shared insights into Riddhima’s hesitation about pursuing acting. She mentioned that Riddhima always felt that revealing her desire to become an actress would devastate her father. While Neetu recognized Riddhima’s talent, she understood the pressure that kept her from sharing her dreams.
Neetu also praised Riddhima as a talented and beautiful individual, noting her exceptional mimicry skills that could rival any actress. However, she explained that from a young age, Riddhima was aware of how much pursuing acting would upset her father. Rishi Kapoor was protective of his family, and although he didn’t have anything against actresses, Riddhima chose to prioritize his feelings. To keep the peace, she decided to follow a different path, expressing her desire to design clothes instead. Rishi wholeheartedly supported her ambition, even sending her to London for her studies.Neetu, who also left her career at the age of 21, revealed that Rishi was concerned about the darker aspects of fame. He feared that Riddhima might get caught up in the chaos of tabloids and scrutiny over her personal life and relationships. This fear weighed heavily on him throughout Riddhima’s childhood until she married Bharat. Once she settled down, Rishi felt a sense of relief, leading to a stronger and more open bond between him and Riddhima.
