Vivek Oberoi, who was last seen in the Rohit Shetty-directed web series Indian Police Force, recently shed light on his entrepreneurial journey despite a successful film career with hits like the Masti franchise, Saathiya, Shootout at Lokhandwala, and Omkara. In a recent interview, Vivek claimed he fell victim to the lobbying culture of the film industry.
Speaking to India News, Vivek said, “I have been involved in other businesses for a while now. There was a phase in my life where my movies were hits, my performances were appreciated, yet for various reasons, I wasn’t getting any roles. When you become a victim of the industry’s system and lobbying, you are left with two options: either get depressed or take it as a challenge and write your own destiny. I chose the latter path and ended up starting several businesses.”
Vivek’s career was affected by a public feud with Salman Khan, where Vivek accused Salman of threatening him. In 2003, Vivek called a press conference to discuss the matter. Since then, he has implied that his career suffered due to Salman’s influence.

In an interview at the time, Katrina Kaif suggested she wouldn’t work with Vivek. When asked about this, Vivek told Bollywood Hungama, “If the lady doesn’t want to work with me, it’s her prerogative. Personally, I don’t look at my work that way. I’d work with anyone that the script requires me to. I’d never let my personal biases rule my judgment… Anyway, I’d rather not focus on the negativity.”

Vivek has several projects in the pipeline, including the fourth installment of the popular Masti franchise. The film will see Vivek, Riteish Deshmukh, and Aftab Shivdasani reuniting once again.
