At least two people have died after a wall collapsed at the at Mahakal Temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Friday evening. The boundary wall of the temple collapsed amid heavy rainfall in the area.
Ujjain District Magistrate Neeraj Kumar Singh said two people, while four others have been injured in the incident.
As per initial reports, several people are feared trapped under the debris of the wall. The visuals, shared by news agency PTI, showed locals involved in the rescue operation amid heavy downpour.

Some of the injured were shifted to the hospital, however, the exact number of people trapped under the rubble remains unclear. The sescue operation is underway. As per reports, around half a dozen people may still be trapped under the debris.
“A part of a boundary wall near Maharajwada School collapsed due to heavy flow of water. Four people were injured in this incident, who were brought to the district hospital. One man and one woman have died, while one girl and a woman have been referred to Indore,” Neeraj Kumar Singh said.
