Bengal school appointments ‘scam’: BJP blames CM, asks her to quit
The Opposition BJP on Monday blamed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the Supreme Court’s order annulling over 25,000 school jobs, asking why her government could not provide the court a list of teachers who were “genuine” and those who were “tainted”.
While BJP MLAs protested near the state Assembly, the party’s Yuva Morcha marched to the CM’s Kalighat residence. Police said that some of the leaders and workers were arrested.
“The chief minister is misleading the teachers and non-teaching staff who have lost their jobs. Why isn’t Banerjee giving the list of genuine candidates to the Supreme Court?
