MCA to name one stand of Wankhede after India captain Rohit Sharma
India ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma will have a stand name after him at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced on Tuesday. The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 will soon be named Rohit Sharma Stand.
The decision was taken at the 86th Annual General Meeting, which happened in Mumbai on Tuesday. A major highlight of the meeting was the decision to increase the corpus for affiliated clubs to Rs. 75 crores, with a forward-looking plan to enhance it to Rs. 100 crores in the coming years, said MCA.
Two more stands, Grand Stand Level 3 and Grand Stand Level 4, were renamed as Sharad Pawar Stand and Ajit Wadekar Stand, respectively.
