Varanasi: Murder Accused On Bail Shoots Dead Wife And 3 Children, Suspect’s Body Found Later

A liquor businessman allegedly shot dead his wife and three children in the Bhadohi area of Varanasi before fleeing the scene. According to police, 59-year-old Rajendra Gupta is suspected of murdering his wife Neetu Gupta aged 45, their elder son Navneendra Gupta aged 25, younger son Subeendra Gupta aged 15, and daughter Gaurangi aged 16. The incident took place in a lane in front of the Bhadohi powerhouse, where the family resided. The police have sealed the crime scene and dispatched forensic teams to investigate. Rajendra Gupta's body was later found in suspicious circumstances in the Rohania area of Varanasi, as confirmed by officials from the Rohania police station. Varanasi: Sai Baba Idols Removed From 14 Temples, Hindu Organisations Target 28 More, Here’s Wh

A controversy has erupted in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, over the installation of Sai Baba idols in temples. As of now, idols of Sai Baba have been removed from 14 temples, including the prominent Bada Ganesh Mandir. This action is reportedly being led by Ajay Sharma of the Sanatan Rakshak Sena. According to sources, 28 more temples are being targeted by Hindu organisations, which claim that Sai Baba was a Muslim and had no connection with Sanatan Dharma. The organisations argue that while they do not oppose the worship of Sai Baba, they will not allow his idols to be installed in temples. VARANASI: A resident doctor at Sir Sunder Lal Hospital of Banaras Hindu University has alleged harassment by a patient’s attendant while she was on night duty in the maternal and child health wing.BHU chief proctor Prof SP Singh on Monday confirmed getting the victim’s complaint on e-mail and said a probe has been started.
