A Successful Function
MARCH 23, 1925: The Hindu had the honour of receiving Mahatma Gandhi in its offices, in Mount Road, yesterday afternoon [March 22] on the occasion of the unveiling by him of the portrait of the late Mr. S. Kasturi Ranga Iyengar. The function was simple and impressive; and was largely attended by representatives of the various communities. It was in the nature of an All Parties gathering as was humourously remarked by Mr. S. Srinivasa Iyengar at the close of the ceremony. The buildings were tastefully decorated with evergreens and national flags, the scheme of decorations carried out in the central hall being particularly nice and attractive.
