Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket after the Third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Gabba. The all-time seventh-placed wicket-taker in Test cricket only played in one Test in the ongoing India vs Australia series so far.
Having taken one wicket in the second Test at Adelaide, Ashwin did not feature in the third Test with India preferring Ravindra Jadeja. Former Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin thinks Ashwin would have been a bit frustrated with the change.
