Low pressure area over Bay of Bengal becomes well-marked low pressure area

The low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining east Equatorial Indian Ocean moved to become a well-marked low pressure area over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday (December 10, 2024). According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to mid-tropospheric levels.
