Pollsters split on Jharkhand, 1 predicts INDIA bloc, 2 NDA win; 2 others forecast hung assembly

New Delhi: Pollsters were split in their prediction for Jharkhand, with one giving a clear majority to the INDIA bloc, two others giving a majority to the NDA and another two predicting a hung house. The majority mark in the 81-member Jharkhand assembly is 42. The Times Now-JVC exit poll predicted 40-44 seats for BJP-led NDA and 30-40 for INDIA bloc comprising the ruling JMM-Congress combine and their smaller allies. Dainik Bhaskar, too, predicted a hung house with 37-40 seats for the NDA and 36-39 for the INDIA bloc. Matrize predicted 42-47 seats for NDA, and 25-30 for INDIA bloc. File FIRs against JMM, BJP for press meet during silence period, says Jharkhand CEO | India News – Times of India

Jharkhand chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar Tuesday took cognisance of press conferences conducted by both JMM and BJP during the silence period ahead of the second phase of assembly elections on Wednesday and directed the district electoral officer of Ranchi to register FIRs against the two parties. JMM and BJP held press conferences at their respective party offices on Tuesday. "Such activities during the silence period are a violation of the model code of conduct. Similar incidents were reported earlier and a notice was served to Congress and BJP," Kumar said. Ge added that the district electoral officer would send a report on registration of FIRs to his office after which it would be sent to EC for further action.Source link

Jharkhand Election 2024: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Jharkhand to take immediate action against a "misleading and malicious" video posted by BJP Jharkhand on social media taking serious note of the complaints from the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The CEO has been instructed to issue a notice to BJP Jharkhand, demanding an explanation for the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and to ensure the video is removed from all party social media platforms.
