Video | NDTV Exclusive: 1st Images Of Chinese Troops’ Disengagement In Ladakh

Days after India announced that a patrolling arrangement had been reached with China, NDTV has accessed the first satellite images of disengagement taking place on the ground in Depsang and Demchok in Eastern Ladakh. The agreement was announced on Monday and a satellite image from the Depsang plains taken on October 11 shows four vehicles and two tents.Another image taken on Friday shows that the tents have been removed and the vehicles are moving away. The land on which the tents stood has also been restored.Source link

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made “suggestions” on “improving and developing” bilateral ties with China, which Chinese President Xi Jinping “agreed to in principle”  during their meeting Wednesday in Russia, according to Beijing’s readout of the discussions. “The two leaders commended the important progress the two sides had recently made through intensive communication on resolving the relevant issues in the border areas. New Delhi: Indian external affairs minister S. Jaishankar Wednesday took aim at China and Pakistan, calling for cooperation based on “mutual respect and sovereign equality”, during his remarks at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of Government summit in Islamabad. “Cooperation must be based on mutual respect and sovereign equality. It should recognise territorial integrity and sovereignty. It must be built on genuine partnerships, not unilateral agendas. It cannot progress if we cherry-pick global practices, especially of trade and transit,” Jaishankar said.
