INDIA bloc moves no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha chairman Dhankhar for ‘partisan’ conduct

New Delhi: The Opposition’s INDIA bloc moved a no-confidence motion against Vice-President and Rajya Sabha chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar Tuesday, shortly after both houses of Parliament descended into chaos and had to be adjourned for the day. More than 50 parliamentarians from the Congress, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Samajwadi Party (SP), the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) signed the notice and handed it to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat. South Korea President Yoon’s Impeachment Motion Fails, Sparks Massive Protests In Seoul

A motion to impeach South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol over his brief imposition of martial law failed in the National Assembly on Saturday, as lawmakers from his ruling conservative party, the People Power Party (PPP), largely boycotted the vote. The outcome is likely to fuel public protests and deepen political instability in the country.   Impeachment required the support of 200 out of 300 members of the National Assembly. The opposition, led by the Democratic Party, controls 192 seats but needed additional backing from the ruling party.
