New Delhi: Resumption of direct flights, the Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra, media exchanges and data-sharing on trans-border rivers were all discussed as the next steps in India-China ties during the meeting between external affairs minister S. Jaishankar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the margins of the G20 summit in Brazil Monday. The meeting between the two foreign ministers is the first since the disengagement process began at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) late October. New Delhi: The supply of energy resources—uranium, crude oil and coal—by Russia is extremely “important” for India and a “critical” pillar of ties between New Delhi and Moscow, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said Tuesday. Addressing the 25th session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC), the minister said the two countries would also be discussing cooperation critical for India’s food, energy and health security. “Russia has emerged as a major source of fertilisers for us. New Delhi: American sanctions on Indian firms, the trade imbalance, the settlement of payments in local currencies and transport corridors are among the key issues expected to be discussed Tuesday at the 25th session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC) in the national capital.  It will be co-chaired by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov. Manturov is on a two-day visit (11 and 12 November) to India.
