The Delhi government has announced work from home for half of its employees amid 'severe' air quality in the national capital. An Air India flight from Paris to New Delhi landed in Jaipur as the pilots refused to fly further after completing their duty hours, leading to chaos on Monday. The flight (AI-2022) was carrying around 180 passengers, who were stranded for nearly nine hours in Jaipur after which they were sent to Delhi by bus, a report in India Today said.  The incident unfolded after the pilot refused to continue their journey to Delhi citing completion of duty hours. The air quality in New Delhi worsened to the 'severe plus' category with the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 400 in most places in the national capital. The AQI was highest in Najafgarh at 748, while Dwarka recorded 705, and Gurugram saw an AQI of 714. An AQI between 401 and 500 is considered "severe" and anything beyond 500 is "severe-plus emergency". The areas around Lutyens' Delhi saw a lower AQI comparatively, however, it remained under the 'severe plus' category.
