The Trinamool Congress has said that the Opposition has moved a no-confidence motion to remove Vice-Principal Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Rajya Sabha Chairman. The Rajya Sabha was again adjourned for the day on Tuesday. TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose said: “For the first time in history, the government itself is not allowing the House to function. The Modi government is murdering Parliament… I want to ask the government not to run away. They must answer to the people.

“Whenever we ask questions on pertinent issues like unemployment and inflation, they create a ruckus and get the House adjourned,” Ghose said.
Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned for the day, as the BJP and the Opposition clashed over the Adani charges, and George Soros’s links to the Congress. Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said: “The House is not running, and the government is deliberately not running the House, or they are unable, incapable to do so. It is their strategy… they are afraid of discussion over Adani. I am new to Parliament and it is strange that the PM has not come here, it’s been 10 days of this session.”
Owing to the chaos in Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla urged both government and Opposition should work said: “Parliament is a sacred place and it has a very high dignity, prestige and decorum. We achieved independence here. Agreement and disagreement have been the tradition of our democracy. I request you to maintain dignity.”
He further said: “For the last few days, I have been seeing certain types of slogans, posters, and masks being used on Parliament premises. These are not only indecent but are also against the Parliamentary process and tradition.” Birla, however, blamed the Opposition for the chaos. “I have to say with regret that the behaviour of the Opposition leaders is inappropriate in this,” he said.
