NTA new exam dates: The National Testing Agency has announced fresh dates for University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), National Common Entrance Test (NCET) and Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (Joint CSIR-UGC NET), in a public notice released on its official website at nta.ac.in.
The UGC NET, NCET, and Joint CSIR-UGC NET exams, originally slated for June, were postponed due to reported paper leaks and other discrepancies that surfaced after the NEET UG 2024 results were announced on June 4, 2024.
The NTA has now notified that the UGC NET June 2024, NCET 2024, and Joint CSIR-UGC NET 2024 exams will be held in the months of July through August.
The notice reads, “This is to inform all concerned candidates that due to certain unavoidable circumstances, some of the National Testing Agency (NTA) examinations were postponed/cancelled. Now, the fresh dates for these examinations have been finalized as per the details given.”
As per the updated schedule, NCET 2024 exam will now be held on July 10, 2024. Following which, Joint CSIR-UGC NET will be held from July 25 to July 27, 2024.
The UGC NET June 2024 exam will be held between August 21, 2024 and September 4, 2024.

UGC NET June 2024 exam will be held in online mode
Additionally, the UGC NET June 2024 exam which had taken place on June 18, 2024 and was subsequently cancelled on June 19 – was held in offline (OMR sheet) based mode. In its recent notice, the NTA has clarified that the re-exam will be held in Online Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
