Mumbai man stabs father to death for abusing and assaulting mother

The Mumbai police arrested a 31-year-old man Sunday for allegedly stabbing his 65-year-old father to death in Bandra East a day before for beating up his mother over petty issues.

According to the Bandra Kurla Complex police, the man was identified as Narsinh Mugda, and his father as Raju Mugda. They said Narsinh had a housekeeping job, and Raju did not work. The family lives in Valmiki Nagar, Bandra Kurla Complex.

The police said Raju had been assaulting his wife over petty issues for the past few days. On Saturday, when Raju abused and assaulted his wife again, Narsinh, who was at home, got angry, allegedly stabbed him in his chest and left the house.

Raju was rushed to the Bhabha Hospital by neighbours, where was declared dead by the doctors.

The police registered a murder case Saturday based on the complaint by Raju’s daughter, and arrested Narsinh the next morning. He was produced before a court, which remanded him to police custody up to April 11, said a police officer.
