In Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, a woman alleged that her husband gave her triple talaq merely because she supported the police’s action during the Sambhal violence. The woman claimed that her husband was enraged by her opinion and declared he could not live with someone who sided with the police against Muslims.
The incident reportedly took place in the Katghar police station area of Moradabad. The woman alleged that her husband remained upset with her after their marriage. The tension escalated when she expressed support for the police’s action during the Sambhal violence.
She had remarked that the police did the right thing by using batons against rioters who were pelting stones at them. This comment allegedly infuriated her husband, who accused her of being an enemy of Muslims and subsequently divorced her by uttering triple talaq.
