'Mooh kaala karo iska': Triptii Dimri faces backlash after skipping Jaipur event, women entrepreneurs call for boycott of her and upcoming film

Triptii Dimri, who rose to sudden fame with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial Animal, has landed in hot water after failing to attend a scheduled event in Jaipur on Monday evening, which was organized by the Women Entrepreneurs of FICCI FLO. The event, focused on Nari Shakti (Women Empowerment), was to take place at a hotel on JLN Marg, but Triptii’s absence has sparked outrage, leading to calls for a boycott of both her and her upcoming film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
According to reports, Triptii had agreed to attend the event for a fee of Rs 5.5 lakh. One of the female entrepreneurs involved in organizing the event revealed that they had been told via phone that Triptii would arrive in the next five minutes, but she never showed up. The organizer expressed her disappointment, stating that legal action would be taken against the actor for failing to honor her commitment. She added that Jaipur should boycott Triptii and her film for “cheating” them in this manner.
In a video shared online, one woman can be heard angrily saying, “No one will watch her movies. These celebrities don’t show up after committing. Who does she think she is? She’s not even that famous. We came to see who she is, and still, no one knows her name. She is not worth being called a celebrity.”

RajKummar Rao and Triptii Admit to Viewing ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’

Another video shows the event’s organizer blackening a poster of Triptii Dimri on stage in protest, with several women in the crowd shouting, “Mooh kaala karo iska” (Blacken her face).
One of the organizers further stated, “Jaipur should boycott Triptii Dimri. We will file a case against her. I had transferred half the money and was about to send the rest, but I stopped after being told to wait for 5 minutes. I don’t know why, but I gave them half the amount. The total deal was Rs 5.5 lakh. After taking money and changing times, she disrespected us. Jaipur should boycott her movies.”

On the work front, Triptii Dimri’s next film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, is slated for release on October 11, 2024. However, the controversy surrounding her absence from the Jaipur event may cast a shadow over the film’s promotion in the region.
