The highly anticipated sequel Joker: Folie À Deux is gearing up for its big debut at the Venice Film Festival 2024. Fans of the original Joker film, which was a major box office hit and received 11 Oscar nominations, can look forward to seeing the sequel at this prestigious event.

The film will premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 4, 2024.

Following its festival debut, Joker: Folie à Deux is set to hit theaters across the United States on October 4, 2024. International audiences will get to see it a little earlier, with its release scheduled for October 2, 2024. The sequel will be available in both regular theaters and IMAX, offering fans a chance to experience the film in high-quality formats.
In Joker: Folie à Deux , Joaquin Phoenix returns as Arthur Fleck, also known as the Joker. This time, Arthur is shown being held at Arkham Asylum while awaiting trial for his previous crimes. As he struggles with his dual identity, Arthur discovers not only a new love but also his deep-seated passion for music. The film also stars Lady Gaga, playing a significant role alongside Phoenix. Additionally, Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener join the cast, with Zazie Beetz reprising her role from the first film.
Director Todd Phillips, who helmed the original Joker, is back for this sequel. Given the massive success and critical acclaim of the first film, expectations are high for this new installment. The Venice Film Festival’s competition setting is expected to generate substantial buzz for the film, although it has already built significant anticipation on its own.

In addition to Joker: Folie à Deux , other films set to be screened at the Venice Film Festival include Maria, Queer, The Room Next Door, Babygirl, The Brutalist, Youth (Homecoming), April, The Order, and Harvest.
