

Delhi News Live Updates, April 5, 2025: Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, speaking to the media on Saturday, alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Delhi is hand-in-glove with the private schools in the Capital, claiming fee hikes were the biggest worry for the party right now. “The biggest worry for us right now is that private schools have started increasing their fee. Back when we had formed government, we had made a regulation to ensure that private schools cannot arbitrarily increase their fee,” he said. He demanded that the CBI should carry out a probe on the matter, claiming that there is a nexus between the private schools and the BJP ministers.
A massive fire broke out in a tyre manufacturing factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida and efforts to douse it were still underway after over 12 hours, the fire department told news agency PTI on Saturday. The fire broke out at MRL Tyres factory in the Surajpur police station area late Friday. While firefighting operations are still underway, 80 per cent of the fire has been controlled. There were no casualties in the incident, PTI reported.
Javed Akhtar in Delhi today: Delhi’s longest-running mushaira will host its 56th edition and feature poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, doyen of Urdu poetry Waseem Barelvi, scientist and poet Gauhar Raza, Delhi-based poet Iqbal Ashhar, satirist and poet Popular Meeruthi, and Shabeena Adeeb among others on April 5 at Shankar Lall auditorium at Modern School, Barakhamba. With India and Pakistan maintaining a diplomatic freeze, like the last few years, the mushaira will only feature Indian poets.
