BCCI announce Rs 58 crore cash prize for India’s Champions Trophy 2025 winning team

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced a whopping cash reward of INR 58 Crore for the Rohit Sharma-led Indian unit following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

“Under the able and astute leadership of Captain Rohit Sharma, India dominated the tournament, registering four commanding victories en route to the final. The team began their campaign with a solid six-wicket win over Bangladesh, then secured a convincing six-wicket triumph against Pakistan. They continued their momentum with a 44-run victory over New Zealand before ultimately overcoming Australia by four wickets in the semi-final,” a statement released by the BCCI read.

India trumped New Zealand by four wickets in the final held on March 9 in Dubai, with captain Sharma leading a tricky chase with a stroke-filled 76.

The Men in Blue had bagged nearly Rs 20 crore ($2.24 million) in official prize money for lifting the Champions Trophy title while runners-up New Zealand walked away with $1.12 million (Rs. 9.72 crore).

Following the T20 World Cup win in Barbados last year, Rohit Sharma’s side was feted similarly with a bumper cash prize boost from the Indian board. The BCCI had then promised a staggering Rs 125 crore for the entire contingent, nearly thrice the prize reward announced for the 2011 ODI World Cup-winning squad under former captain MS Dhoni.
