
A proprietor of a Pataudi hotel was detained Tuesday in connection with a firing incident in the morning that left three injured.
Local police received information about the incident at 11.30 am. The issue arose after the hotel owner, a 50-year-old, fired shots after getting into an altercation with the family members of a woman who had come to his establishment with a man.
The couple is allegedly in a relationship, as per police sources.
The kin of the woman, who had gathered in large numbers as per police, reached the hotel looking for her and had been trying to enter it. An altercation with the hotel owner then ensued, leading to him firing shots from a licensed weapon. Two of those injured were passersby, while one was a relative of the woman.
Inspector Brahm Prakash, the Station House Officer of Pataudi Police Station, said the accused would be produced before the magistrate tomorrow to record his statement.
“We have invoked sections 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (attempt to murder) and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (crime committed by multiple people with common intention). An investigation is on,” he said.
