Gemini, Daily Horoscope Today, March 25, 2025: Not a day for major financial decisions – The Times of India

A cautious approach is the need of the hour, dear Gemini. The day may present a few challenges, particularly in terms of mobility and communication. It’s time to ditch sexist campaign slogans

Elections are a continuous phenomenon in India. In just the last 10 years, we have seen significant electoral activity, substantial financial expenditure, and participation from an array of political parties and candidates. There has also been an increasing number of women voters, which plausibly hints at the changing nature of political communication and the feminisation and professionalisation of campaign practices. Despite these changes, sloganeering, which remains central to election campaigns and is seen as an effective means of voter mobilisation, is embedded in gendered stereotypes. Slogans often normalise violence and reduce women to being passive beneficiaries rather than as active agents in the electoral landscape. How communication grewThe evolution of voter mobilisation in India...

IPL, DC vs LSG: Ashutosh Sharma secures win for Delhi from the jaws of defeat

Ashutosh Sharma’s unbeaten 66 overshadows the pyrotechnics of Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran as Delhi Capitals sneak home by 1 wicket against Lucknow Super Giants.Impact Player Ashutosh Sharma played an innings to remember to take Delhi Capitals to a thrilling one-wicket over Lucknow Super Giants. Chasing 210 for victory, Ashutosh was at one stage 20 off 20 deliveries as the asking rate mounted. But despite running out of partners, he scored his next 46 runs off just 11 deliveries to take Delhi home at Vizag with three balls to spare. It was a night when Ashutosh proved that his power-hitting exploits of last season with Punjab Kings wasn’t a fluke. Letters to The Editor — March 25, 2025

Judiciary and integrityAs more details emerge about the fire incident at the residence of a Delhi High Court judge, one must remember the line from Shakespeare’s Hamlet: ‘Something is rotten in the state of Denmark’ (Page 1, March 24). One wonders how a store room within the premises can be utilised by all and sundry. The higher judiciary needs to act quickly to restore public faith in the judicial system. J. Radhakrishna Kurup, Ettumanoor, Kottayam, Kerala I write this letter as a former Member of Parliament. The way the Supreme Court of India responded to ‘accidental finding’ of unaccounted cash bundles in the judge’s residence is commendable. All the steps taken will certainly infuse confidence in the minds of people on the integrity of the institution. The judiciary should ...
