Romeos done, Navy to install indigenous software-defined radio in all its aerial assets

New Delhi: The Navy has decided to install the indigenously-developed software defined radio (SDR) in all its aerial assets, ThePrint has learnt. Its MH-60R Seahawk helicopters, also known as Romeos, have become the first naval aerial platform to be fitted with the indigenous system that allows encrypted communication. The SDR, which has been developed by the Navy along with Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL), is already fitted in its surface ships. New Delhi: The indigenous Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher system, which is being exported to Armenia and is under consideration by the French military, has become more powerful.  The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) announced Thursday evening that it has successfully completed the flight tests of the Guided Pinaka Weapon System as part of Provisional Staff Qualitative Requirements (PSQR) Validation Trials.  This is the guided version of the Pinaka system. This means that the rockets have seekers and can be used for precision strikes. India to seek Khalistan Tiger Force ‘de facto chief’ Arsh Dalla’s extradition after arrest in Canada

New Delhi: India will seek extradition of proclaimed offender and designated terrorist Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla from Canada following his arrest by local police there in light of a gangland shooting. “In view of the recent arrest, our agencies will be following up on an extradition request. Given Arsh Dalla’s criminal record in India and his involvement in similar illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited or deported to face justice in India,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement Thursday. Government sources said now that it has been established that Gill is indeed in Canada and has been arrested, India will file for an extradition.
