The bravehearts conferred India’s highest gallantry awards this Independence Day went above and beyond the call of duty. Among the 103 medals approved by President Droupadi Murmu to the armed and central police forces, four were Kirti Chakras, 18 Shaurya Chakras, one Bar-to-Sena Medal (Gallantry); 63 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 11 Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry) and six Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry). New Delhi: She was a playful golden Labrador who had a nose for terrorists. On Wednesday, she was posthumously honoured with a Presidential gallantry award for laying down her life for the country. A veteran of nine anti-terror operations, Kent was with her pack of human soldiers in Jammu in hot pursuit of a group of terrorists last September, when she was fatally shot. She was able to lead a column of soldiers to terrorists holed up in Rajouri, and lunged forward to attack even as the militants opened fire. Army scouts for 90 tracked air defence systems with minimum 50% indigenous content

New Delhi: The Indian Army is looking to procure a minimum of 90 Carrier Air Defence Tracked (CADET) systems, with a minimum of 50 percent indigenous content, to deploy them with mechanised columns. The Army will deploy the CADET in all terrains such as plains, deserts, semi-deserts, and high-altitude and mountainous areas of up to 5,000 m. The CADET chassis will, afterwards, be a common link for other air defence projects that the Army has been looking at.
