A woman and her 22-year-old daughter allegedly committed suicide by consuming insecticide here on Sunday, police said. The woman's 18-year-old son, who also consumed insecticide, is undergoing treatment at a hospital, they said. Suman Tiwari (42) and her daughter Komal, residents of Arai village, consumed sulphas (insecticide) tablets at their home this morning, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tejveer Singh said. Police in Maharahtra's Thane district have registered a case against a man for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman and attempted trafficking for the sale of her kidney, an official said on Sunday.
