JIPMER closure for Ram temple ceremony | Madras HC records emergency services will not be disrupted

Shamshabad diocese gets new administrator

Bishop Joseph Kollamparambil has been appointed diocesan administrator of the Syro-Malabar Diocese of Shamshabad in Telangana. He was appointed after Bishop Raphael Thattil was elected Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church last week. The new administrator took charge at the ongoing synod of the Church in Kochi.Bishop Kollamparambil was appointed auxiliary bishop of the diocese in October 2022. The future of over 150 undergraduate students in Lakshadweep hangs in the balance as they run from pillar to post to clear hurdles that emerged following the decision of the Lakshadweep Administration to transfer the affiliation of their colleges from the Calicut University to the Pondicherry University. The affected students include those who enrolled for various undergraduate programmes at the P.M. Sayeed Calicut University Centre, Androth, and Calicut University Centre, Kadmat, in 2020.
