TANCET 2025:Anna University, Chennai, will officially announce the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2025 notification on January 19, 2025. The notification will be available on the university’s official website at tancet.annauniv.edu/tancet/. TANCET is a state-level examination conducted annually for postgraduate admissions in courses such as MBA, MCA, and M.E./M.Tech in Tamil Nadu colleges.
This highly anticipated entrance test is organized by Anna University to facilitate the admission process for postgraduate programs, including MBA and MCA, across various institutions in Tamil Nadu. The university also oversees the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission for Post Graduate (CEETA PG) for M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, and M.E. programs. Over 200 colleges in Tamil Nadu accept TANCET scores for admission, with more than 40,000 MBA aspirants competing each year for approximately 15,000 available seats in various institutes.
Once the TANCET 2025 notification is released, candidates can access the application form on the official website. The application process includes registration, filling out the form, uploading documents, and paying the required fee.

TANCET 2025: Exam pattern

The TANCET 2025 examination will be conducted offline and consists of 100 objective-type questions to be completed within two hours (120 minutes). The exam serves as a gateway for postgraduate admissions and is followed by counseling sessions conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chennai, for MBA admissions.
The test is structured as a pen-and-paper-based examination with five distinct sections:

  • Business Analysis
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability
  • Data Sufficiency
  • General English

Each section evaluates different skill sets, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the candidates’ aptitude for postgraduate studies.
