ICC to press start button on stop-clock trials from West Indies vs England T20I series

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday has announced that they will introduce the stop clock trial to speed up play from the upcoming T20 series between West Indies and England. The first game of the five-match T20 series will be played on December 12 in Barbados. The new rule will be tested on a “trial basis” for six months between this December and April 2024. Under this regulation, a clock will be used to regulate the amount of time taken between overs. As per the new rule, the stop clock will restrict the amount of time taken between overs, meaning that the bowling team will need to be ready to bowl the first ball of their next over within 60 seconds of the previous over being completed.
