Police and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir conducted searches in Udhampur’s Majalta Thursday after there were reports that two armed militants were sighted at Chor Panjwa village. DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat said the area — which is thickly-wooded — had been cordoned off and additional reinforcements have been sent in. The sources said some militants had sought food from one of the houses in the village Wednesday night and left with a mobile phone from the family.
