Mumbai: Tunnel aquarium to come up at Byculla zoo at Rs 62 crore
Mumbai is set to get a dome-shaped, tunnel aquarium inside the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Vanaspati Udyan and Zoo, popularly called Byculla Zoo, with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) awarding the tender for its construction, more than a year after it was first floated. The tender has been awarded to SKS Karkala Infra Projects, which will construct the aquarium tunnels along with the extension of the existing penguin facility, at a cost of Rs 62 crore in a year.ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO
According to senior civic officials, the work order will be issued in the coming weeks, following which construction will begin.
