Check dams, tractor-mounted pumps and more: Gurugram prepares for monsoon with long-term measures
The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is preparing for the upcoming monsoon, with a flood control office coming up in its Sector 44 headquarters.
Neha Sharma, Public Relations Officer, GMDA, said on Tuesday the action plan involves increasing the number of road gullies, which are narrow sloping stretches along the edges of roads that direct floodwater towards drains.
“We noticed there were gaps in ensuring the construction of road gullies in some parts of the city, so we are fixing that and ensuring the flow to the drains is seamless,” she said.
