RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat expressed concern over India's declining population growth, stating that the country's Total Fertility Rate (TFR) should be at least 3, far above the current rate of 2.1, which is considered the replacement rate. Speaking at the 'Kathale Kul (clan) Sammelan' in Nagpur on Sunday, Bhagwat stressed the crucial role families play in society and warned that a fertility rate below 2.1 could lead to societal extinction.
"A declining population is a serious concern. Demographic studies suggest that when a society’s total fertility rate falls below 2.1, it risks facing extinction.
