Rinku Singh is really hungry for success, he has got future: Andy Flower

Rinku Singh is a “good package’ with his ice-cool demeanour and hunger for success, making him a potential India candidate, feels Lucknow Super Giants coach Andy Flower. The 25-year-old was the sole bright spot of Kolkata Knight Riders’ topsy-turvy season as they bowed out of IPL 2023 with a one-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants here on Saturday. “Rinku played out of his skin again to get them that close, didn’t he? We were really in good situation, but if they had won it from there it would have been genuinely astounding,” Flower said in the post-match media interaction. Rinku Singh remained unbeaten and kept #KKR's hopes alive once again till the end with a gutsy finish 👏🏻👏🏻#TATAIPL | #KKRvLSG Sit back and relive his knock here 🎥🔽https://t.co/qMzehvqMKn — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) M...

IPL 2023: Lucknow Super Giants survive Rinku Singh scare to qualify for playoffs

Batting under pressure and with wickets falling at the other end, Rinku Singh with a gallant unbeaten 67 off just 33 balls almost pulled off a heist that would have put Kolkata Knight Riders in the reckoning for a playoff spot. With 21 needed off the last over and then 18 off three, Rinku managed a six and followed it up with a four and a six but KKR fell short by one run to give Lucknow Super Giants an assured place in the playoffs. Lucknow fast bowler Yash Thakur bowled a nervy last over, in which he conceded two wides but also bowled two dot balls to put Rinku under immense pressure. The second-last ball, which was a little wide outside off, was smashed for a four by Rinku which meant KKR needed eight off the last ball. When Andrew Russell, not at his best but still a dangerous finis...

IPL 2023, KKR vs LSG emotional rollercoaster: Superstar Rinku Singh falls short, Andre Russell misfires, Nicholas Pooran counter-attacks as LSG edge past KKR

Rinku, a bonafide star It’s official now. Rinku Singh is not a one-match wonder and is here to stay. The jailbreak against Gujarat Titans so many weeks ago may be a one-in-a-blue-moon event, but in subsequent matches, the left-hander has proven to be the knight in shining armour for KKR, when those around him have flattered to deceive. He is their chase-master, adapting his game to the demands of the situation. He narrowly came up short on Saturday, but did his burgeoning reputation no harm as KKR scored 39 of the 41 runs required in the final two overs, his bating partner Vaibhav Arora contributing just one of them. KKR may have been knocked out of the competition, but they will do well to build their squad for the next few editions around Rinku. Expectations will be much higher from t...

KKR vs LSG play-off scenarios: Mathematically alive Knight Riders can play the role of party-poopers for Super Giants

IPL 2023: Even a win at Eden Gardens would not be enough for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to secure a place in the top-four. For them the chances of qualification are somewhere between improbable and miniscule. They need a huge win and results elsewhere to go their way. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) however do not have to fret so much about the mathematical scenarios as a win would be enough for them to seal their back-to-back playoff berth. On momentum too, LSG look far superior to a struggling KKR who have struggled to get into the act at their home den. LSG are playing away from home but they are coming off back-to-back wins after just one victory in the four completed matches before that. IPL 2023: KKR vs LSG | Listless Kolkata hoping against hope, Lucknow eyes play-off berth

Set to be clad in local giants Mohun Bagan's iconic green and maroon jersey, Lucknow Super Giants would find themselves at home as they look to seal their playoff berth knocking out a hapless Kolkata Knight Riders in the final IPL game, in Kolkata on May 20.The real home team in this case, KKR, have not only complained of being let down by the conditions but their problems go deeper, having struggled to find a perfect winning combination in a topsy-turvy season, enduring seven defeats. Out of those seven, four losses were at the Eden Gardens.Be it the batting, which still seems to be a work in progress, the bowling, especially pace department, has also looked terribly short on experience. In fielding, they have made a mockery of themselves with some of the efforts suggesting that the tw...
